Privacy policy
How Bento Biryani collects and uses your details when you order. Effective 6 October 2026.
This policy explains what personal data Bento Biryani ("we", "us") collects through bentobiryani.com and our WhatsApp ordering, why we use it, and the choices you have. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Order details you give us: your name, mobile number, delivery address, landmark, the items you order, your kitchen notes and your payment method.
- Messages: the WhatsApp messages and calls you exchange with us.
- Team order requests: your name, phone, company, number of bentos and date.
We do not ask for card or bank details on the website. Payment is cash or UPI on delivery.
Stored on your own device
To save you retyping, the website remembers your bag, your last bento and your delivery details in your browser's local storage on your device. This data is not sent to us until you send an order on WhatsApp. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
How we use your data
- To prepare, deliver and confirm your order, and to contact you about it.
- To handle complaints, refunds and order mistakes.
- To send you offers on WhatsApp, only if you have asked us to. You can stop these by replying STOP.
- To meet legal, tax and food-safety record-keeping duties.
Who we share it with
- Our delivery riders, who receive your name, phone and address for your order only.
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms), which carries your order message under its own privacy policy.
- Government authorities, when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data.
Third-party services on this website
The website loads fonts from Google Fonts. Map links open Google Maps, and order buttons open WhatsApp. To keep the map link in your WhatsApp order short, your delivery address and landmark are sent to the link-shortening service is.gd, which creates a short link to that location on Google Maps. These services receive your IP address and device information when they load, under their own privacy policies. We do not use advertising trackers.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as tax and food-safety laws require (generally up to 8 years for billing records), and delete WhatsApp chats we no longer need for your orders.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent for offers, by writing to hello@bentobiryani.com or messaging +91 88774 46363. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Orders should be placed by adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
